School Program

Thank you for your interest in Dental Associates of Walpole Dental Health Program.  The program is now in its 16th successful year and visits with over 12,000 students each year.  The program is available to Walpole and all surrounding towns.  It is most suitable for children ages 3 to 13 and is flexible enough to fit into any school schedule.

Dental Associates of Walpole believes early education is the key to prevention and overall good dental health.  This program is our way of trying to reach as many children as possible before a dental problem arises.  In order to make this program accessible to all who wish to participate, Dental Associates of Walpole offers the program at no charge.  In addition to the presentation, each child receives a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, and water bottle.

There are 2 different programs for you to choose from:

Dental Health Program for 3-7 years of age:
This presentation consists of a 30 minute puppet show.  The children will learn proper brushing, flossing and nutrition.  There is also a demonstration on tools used at the dentist and what to expect for their first dental visit.  It is our hope that through humor and education children will not be apprehensive, but rather excited about their dental visits.
 
Dental Health Program for 9-13 years of age:
This program is a 40 minute slide presentation that clearly demonstrates the cavity process and proper dental health care.  Nutritional education is explained in greater detail with an emphasis on the role diet plays in the cavity process.  In addition to slides and teaching aids, there are magic tricks to keep students interested and entertained!The importance of wearing a mouth guard in various sports is also discussed.
